Why I Switched to Facebook, Instagram and Threads from 𝕏 (Twitter)

My X account was created in 2018 when it was still called Twitter. My aim was to close my LinkedIn and Facebook accounts and consolidate on X entirely, which I did. I had high hopes.

After 2+ years on X it became increasingly hard to have my large network of work colleagues, family and friends follow me, as they were mostly on the Meta platforms. I must say though that I did make many interesting connections on X and obtained 500+ followers. It was an enjoyable journey, yet lacked the engagement of those within my close network whom I keep in touch with on a regular basis.

This month I took a bold decision to transition to Facebook, Instagram and Threads 100% permanently. The experience has been highly positive and rewarding – best decision in the context of social media I have ever made!

To be specific, these are the benefits of being on Meta platforms in my opinion:

Facebook
Facebook excels in community building and content variety. It allows users to create groups, events, and share a wide range of content types, making it suitable for both personal and professional networking. The platform’s extensive advertising options and advanced targeting capabilities also make it a powerful tool for businesses.

Instagram
Instagram is primarily focused on visual content, making it ideal for brands and influencers. Its features like Stories and Reels encourage creativity and engagement, particularly among younger audiences. The platform’s strong community aspect, driven by hashtags and visual storytelling, fosters connections around shared interests.

Threads
Threads, as a newer platform, aims to create a space for more meaningful conversations. It focuses on text-based interactions while allowing for visual elements, which can enhance engagement. As it develops, it may offer unique features that cater to community discussions and user preferences.

I am relieved to be with Meta again exclusively and permanently for my social media needs. I look forward to the future, particularly with the release of Meta’s AI Glasses – they look amazing and I plan to partake!

Feel free to connect with me on Facebook (for work colleagues, family and friends), Instagram (for everyone) and Threads (for everyone) via my social media links below. I look forward to seeing you online!
